I had an entirely different post written up and ready for you all today. But things change; I'm realizing more and more that things can change very quickly and without warning.
I spent the evening at the hospital with family, praying for family member that suddenly, without warning, had a major heart attack.
It makes you think...really, really think. Anything can happen, at any time. You just never know how long you have with the people in your lives and with your own life in fact.
I know, I know, this is rather morbid thinking but I really just wanted to share what was in my heart today.
We have a finite amount of time on this Earth, and we have no idea how long that time is. Some people, sadly have very little time and others are blessed with many years. But no matter how much time you have, it is still never enough, is it?
What are you doing with your time? Are you living your life to its fullest? Or are you planning on living your life to the fullest, just eeking by at the moment until you have more time, more money, more…whatever it is that you feel you need more of?
If you are waiting to live your life, for whatever reason, STOP! Stop waiting and make every minute, every second, every opportunity worth it. You don't know how many more minutes, seconds and opportunities you have left. You just don't...horrible as that sounds...you don't, none of us do. Do you want to look back at your life and think about the things you didn't get to do, to say, to experience...or do you want to look back, content that with whatever time you had, you made the most of it?
Go and give your children, spouse, parents, significant other, best friend, a giant hug and tell them you love them. Make some time to laugh, play, and just be silly. When your kids ask to play a game, put aside whatever work you have and play the game. It’s more important…when you look back on your life, you aren’t going to remember that project you completed but you will remember the game you played.
Tomorrow is a new beginning…I’m going to start living my life, making the important things important and trust that everything else will fall into place.
If you’ve read this all the way through, thank you for letting me share. This was weighing heavily on my heart and I really felt I needed to share it.
